THE ORIGIN
My apprenticeship in human geography began in the 1970s, as a seven-year-old child in Turin. While other children were playing, I was entering the private lives of my city, assisting in my family’s mattress shop. Over the next 15 years, delivering door-to-door with my father, I entered thousands of homes. I didn’t just see the interiors of Turin; I saw the intimate, unscripted ways people inhabit space.
This childhood immersion in the intersection of architecture and lived experience became my foundation. Even as I later pursued a law degree and spent over a decade as a professional consultant, that “scouting” instinct never left me. I learned the precision of research, but my heart remained focused on the “B-side” of the street.
THE BROOKLYN PRODUCTION
When I moved to Brooklyn in 2013, the scale of the city changed, but my method did not. I traded the interior mapping of Turin for the vast geography of the five boroughs. By walking the streets of every neighborhood—from the maritime edges of Staten Island to the hidden corners of the Bronx—I’ve translated my childhood curiosity into a professional lens. I don’t just see landmarks; I see the way history, architecture, and daily life intersect to create the city’s unique, unscripted drama.
THE PRIVATE CINEMATIC EXPERIENCE
Today, I use that cinematic eye—forged from thousands of hours of film and a lifetime of street-level obsession—to lead private experiences that go beyond the guidebook. As a Licensed NYC Tour Guide, I frame the city around your specific curiosity. I don’t just show you New York; I help you direct your own narrative within it, finding the sophisticated “B-sides” that make the city feel like your own.
