Real Life Happens & The Shifting Skies
When you look at the skyline of New York, it looks grand, monumental, and perfectly still. But down here on the pavement, the city is a living, breathing environment—and so are the lives of the people who come to visit it.
“Real empathy on the concrete…”
I know that booking a private experience for your family, your partner, or your closest friends requires trust. You are investing your limited time and your hard-earned resources. I also know that planning a trip means balancing a dozen moving parts, and sometimes, life doesn’t follow the script. A sudden fever, a delayed flight, or a shifting sky can disrupt even the best-laid plans.
I am an independent, licensed guide. When you reserve a date on my calendar, that time belongs entirely to you. However, I am a person before I am a business. I have no interest in holding your investment hostage over unexpected events and unforeseen disruptions you couldn’t possibly foresee or control. Here is how we handle the unexpected together, with clear logic and real empathy.
Note for Direct Guests: This policy is designed for my direct guests—families, couples, and small groups. For professional travel advisors, agencies, and consultants, please refer to your B2B partnership agreement.

THE TIMELINE & UNFORESEEN EVENTS
Clear logic and real flexibility when plans shift.
For General Plan Changes (Up to 7 Days Before)
If your travel dates shift, your itinerary changes, or you simply decide to take a different direction, you can cancel your walk up to 7 days before our scheduled date. You will receive a 100% refund of all monies paid, minus a flat $50 planning and curation fee to cover the initial design of your route.
For Last-Minute Emergency Curveballs (Within 7 Days to the Day Of)
If an actual crisis happens—a sudden health issue, a flight cancellation, a severe family emergency, or an unexpected workplace crisis that breaks your trip—reach out to me as soon as you know. We won’t hide behind a cold contract. Instead, we have two human paths forward:
1. The Parallel Calendar
We will work together to shift your walk to a different day or a shorter, more manageable block during your stay, entirely penalty-free. If an 8-hour “Feature Presentation” needs to step down to a 4-hour “Short Subject” due to unexpected fatigue or schedule shifts, we simply adjust the tier, and I will issue a clean, direct partial refund for the difference in rate so you only ever invest in the exact experience you receive, with no extra charges or penalties for changing course.
2. The Shared Risk Credit
If rescheduling is completely impossible because your itinerary is rigid, I will refund your final balance, and I will hold your 50% deposit as a lifetime credit. It never expires. You can use it when you return to the city, or you can pass it along to a friend or family member who is visiting New York. We share the weight of the disruption.

THE SHIFTING SKIES
Weather policies grounded in reality and safety.
A light drizzle or a passing seasonal shower is just part of the city’s natural atmosphere—we simply adjust our framing, lean into the architectural textures of the neighborhoods, and find covered spaces. New York is incredibly beautiful in the rain if you know where to look.
However, if the National Weather Service issues a severe warning for our exact hours (continuous torrential downpours, hazardous high-heat indexes, or severe winter storms), we will look at the forecast together 24 hours in advance. If walking becomes genuinely unbearable or unsafe, especially for children, we will either pivot to an indoor architectural narrative, reschedule for a better slot, or issue a clean, full refund (minus the $50 planning fee). You will never be forced to walk through a blizzard or a tropical storm just because you paid for a tour.
THE IN-THE-MOMENT ADJUSTMENT
Pacing and burnout on the pavement.
If we are mid-way through The Feature Presentation (our 8-hour day) or The Short Subject (our 4-hour day), and I see that your child is hitting a wall, your companion is exhausted, or the pavement is simply winning, we change the pacing in real-time. We don’t push through misery. We stop for an unscripted coffee, we find a quiet neighborhood corner to rest, or we shorten the physical walk and adapt the story to a comfortable rhythm. You are the absolute protagonist of this experience, and the pace will always bend to serve your peace of mind.
YOUR CITY. DIRECTED.
